HIKING AND CYCLING RIDE “THEY WALKED”

The Matulji Municipality Tourist Board, as part of the Matuljicious /matuljišs/ project held in January and November, organizes the cycling and hiking event "They Walked” – an activity that combines active time in nature with the rich tradition and culture of our region.

This unique event includes a guided hiking tour and a cycling tour, during which participants enjoy beautiful landscapes while discovering interesting historical stories connected to the local heritage. Special emphasis is placed on introducing participants to Matuljicious restaurateurs, local producers, and family farms (OPGs).

During the tour, several local farms are visited, where participants have the opportunity to take part in presentations and tastings of products that reflect the tradition, authenticity, and quality of our region. In this way, the importance of preserving indigenous ingredients and traditional recipes is further highlighted, while promoting our area as an attractive destination for lovers of active holidays, local gastronomy, and authentic experiences.

The program includes:

• a guided hiking tour lasting approximately 3 hours

• a guided cycling tour of 15 kilometres

The routes change with each edition of the event, providing participants with a new experience every time and the opportunity to discover different beauties of our region.
