KAPIĆ WINES

 

Kapić Winery from Matulji, founded in 2022, represents a new wave of Kvarner winemaking with an emphasis on both tradition and modern approaches. It produces nine wine labels – white wines such as Kastafska Belica, Malvasia, Chardonnay, and Muscat; Merlot in both red and rosé versions; as well as single-varietal Teran and Teran blended with Refosco. The wines are named using words from the Chakavian dialect, creating a strong connection to local culture.The cellar and tasting room are located in the center of Matulji, and tastings are offered throughout the year. The project promotes micro-production, authenticity, and quality, targeting both domestic and international guests seeking local experiences. Plans include further education programs, cooperation with family farms (OPGs), digital promotion, and the introduction of new technologies, thereby building a sustainable model of wine tourism rooted in the heritage of Liburnia.
