Natural Features
 
The Lisina Significant Landscape encompasses a vast, predominantly forested area in the hilly parts of Ćićarija, naturally connected to the Učka Nature Park. This landscape is characterized by rich forest communities, well-preserved natural habitats, and diverse plant and animal life, making it an important part of the regional ecological network.Among the many peaks shaping this mountainous area, Crni vrh (1,037 m) stands out, offering impressive views toward the interior of Istria and the Kvarner coastal area.
Cultural and Recreational Value
 
Lisina represents a valuable combination of natural and cultural heritage. In addition to its natural diversity, the area preserves numerous historical and cultural traces. Thanks to its accessibility and varied terrain, it is ideal for hiking, recreation, and spending time in nature.Within the complex there is a weekend settlement, a mountain lodge, and a hunting lodge, while the area is easily accessible and connected by a developed network of forest roads and tractor trails. Lisina is also a crossroads of several hiking routes, including peaks such as Gomila, Vodička Griža, and Vodice.
Protection and Area Management
 
The Lisina complex has been designated as a separate valuable unit and declared a "Forest Park – Protected Landscape” due to its natural and scenic characteristics.The area covers about 14 km² within the cadastral municipalities of Zvoneća and Rukavac Gornji, of which 98% consists of forest areas, mostly under state ownership.Special emphasis is placed on the protective, health, educational, tourism, and sports-recreational functions of the area, while maintaining forest management and hunting activities to the extent that they do not conflict with the primary conservation objectives.
Importance in the Regional Context

Due to its location, Lisina represents an important element in the landscape of the wider Ćićarija and Matulji area. It lies close to larger urban centers and tourist facilities, which further increases its value and potential for sustainable development.
