Matulji Summer Evenings
The event "Matulji Summer Evenings"” has been held in Matulji since 1995, continuously hosting prominent names from the Croatian music and theatre scene.
Until the construction of the Amphitheatre in 2016, performances, film screenings, concerts, and other entertainment, cultural, and sports events took place at the square in front of the municipal building, the upper playground, and in front of the Hangar. Today, the Amphitheatre has become an essential venue for cultural events, enjoyed by both audiences and performers. The tramontana—the distinctive wind of the area—adds a special touch to every performance, bringing a refreshing summer breeze and a sense of comfort that enhances the overall experience in the very center of Matulji.
Last year’s jubilee 30th edition recorded a remarkable attendance of 25,000 visitors. Throughout June, July, and August, a total of 20 diverse programs were held at the Matulji Amphitheatre and nearby locations, including concerts, theatre performances, film screenings, and evenings dedicated to local music. Particularly notable was the concert by Urban & 4 accompanied by string musicians, which attracted more than 5,000 visitors, as well as the screening of the film Fiume o morte directed by Igor Bezinović, when the Amphitheatre, in collaboration with Art-kino, was transformed into an open-air cinema for one evening.
This summer, a rich and diverse program is planned once again, and, as always, all events will remain free of charge, ensuring that the festival continues to be open and accessible to a wide audience.
